Mingote Optics

Óptica Mingote is a family business established in the town of Novelda since 1971. Since its inception, it has been located in a small store located on the central street of San Fernando.

Now, with a new generation at the helm, there is a firm intention to reaffirm and consolidate this business, preparing it for the future. For this reason, an adjacent store is acquired, with an entrance on Hernán Cortés street, and connected to the original store forming an L.

The proposal seeks to reinterpret the concept of traditional optics, diluting the usual distance between customer and clerk, seeking new, closer forms of interaction. This new relationship is spatially translated into an open public area, with furniture arranged accordingly. In this way, the exhibition space is maximized, with a design that highlights the products for sale.

The project aims to convey warmth through its materiality. To achieve this, large furniture runs along all the walls, enveloping the main space in natural wood, in which large backlit gaps are fitted to house the exhibition spaces.
