Yus House

We start with an apartment located on the first line of San Juan beach, apparently a good starting point. The contradiction arises when we analyze the building and discover that its front façade turns its back to the sea. The small window openings, more typical of another type of building typology, also do not help. The terraces, located at opposite ends of the east façade, are the best link between the building and the sea.

The proposal focuses all efforts on generating an open day area, trying to maximize contact with the sea and enhance the spectacular views of the beach from this 11th floor. For this reason, the two terraces located in the corners are incorporated into the main space, providing views of Campello to the north and Cabo de las Huertas to the south.

As a counterpoint to the large glass panels open to the landscape, a large wooden piece of furniture is incorporated, providing the main space with a material warmth and at the same time allowing for the resolution of necessary installations and storage.
